Operating Principles of Apartment Entry Station

Apartment entry hot water stations are units that provide heating with some of the water coming from the central boiler room, while heating the usage water coming from the hydrofoil through the exchanger.

Apartment entry stations, also known as floor stations, prioritize the usage water and offer much more comfortable hot water use than boiler systems. They provide water at the desired flow rate and constant temperature even in sudden and changing hot water usage needs.

Areas of Use for Heating Stations (Apartment Entry Station)

  • In skyscrapers or multi-story buildings
  • In villas with centralized heating systems or centrally heated
  • In the use of geothermal sources
  • In almost all regional heating systems
  • In natural gas, fuel oil, wood, and coal boilers

Design of Apartment Entry Station (Floor Station)

The sequence followed when designing the Floor Station System is as follows:

  1. Flow rate for pump and pipe sizing
  2. Boiler or regional heating capacity
  3. Volume of the reserve tank

Total flow rate depends on the heating circuit flow rate and is determined from the necessary primary feed flow rate for the exchanger. Maximum flow rate is observed depending on the parameters in summer or winter. When determining pipe diameters, the equivalent factor and the priority domestic hot water need in winter should be taken into account.

If the domestic hot water control valve mechanically shuts off the radiator/underfloor heating supply circuit, it is understood that there is a 100% domestic hot water need. If a valve without mechanical balance feature is used in this circuit, it should be considered whether domestic hot water will be prioritized or not.
