Optional Mitrogen Deaerator ApplicationOxygen and carbon dioxide gases dissolved in the feed water in steam systems cause corrosion in the form of pores and melts on the metal surfaces in the steam systems. These gases dissolved in mitrogen deaerators are automatically thrown out and thus the system is protected. Deaerator feed water is heated to 102 °C. By keeping the feed water at 102 °C, removing oxygen and carbon dioxide and preventing temperature fluctuations in the steam generator, 3% to 5% fuel savings are achieved.
