What is a Stainless Tank?

Stainless tanks are mainly used in the food industry, industrial facilities, and hotels for obtaining and storing domestic and drinking water. Before manufacturing stainless tanks, some design conditions need to be determined. The conditions to be taken into consideration before production are as follows.

  • Operating temperature and pressure
  • Tank dimensions
  • Material specifications
  • Type of head (Spherical Head, Ellipsoidal Head, Conical Section, Torispherical Head)
  • Pipe connection mouth sizes and pressure classes
  • Climate conditions (wind, earthquake, and soil properties)

Some fluids exhibit different physical and chemical properties at different temperature values. Therefore, when selecting the material required for a stainless water tank, the temperature value of the fluid to be used should be known. The thickness of the tanks should also be determined according to the operating pressure and volume of the tank.

The most important issue in the production of stainless boilers is the flawless welding process. The main defects in welds are hairline cracks and undercuts. Since the small hairline cracks that occur cannot be seen with the naked eye, all welds must be checked with X-ray. Without this control, possible hairline cracks in the boilers put into use can cause very serious problems over time due to high pressure inside the tank and material fatigue. Therefore, it is very important to work with experienced and certified welders for stainless boiler welding. All welders within the scope of Ekin Industrial have BV certification.

With our expert team and experience at Ekin Industrial, we produce tanks ranging from 100 liters to 5000 liters in a wide capacity range, made of different materials such as AISI 304, AISI 316, AISI316Ti, suitable for different fluids. If desired, all our tanks can be produced with internationally valid certifications.

Advantages of Stainless Steel Water Tanks

  • It has high corrosion resistance.
  • It has a much longer lifespan compared to other tanks.
  • It can be used with acidic and corrosive fluids.
  • It is hygienic.
