What is a Globe Valve?

Globe valves derive their name from the perforated and rotating globe inside them. Basically, this perforated globe is rotated at 90-degree angles with the help of the lever on top of the valve to control the flow passing through the system. When the valve lever is aligned with the flow, the hole in the globe is also aligned with the flow, and the fluid flows freely. When the lever is rotated 90 degrees perpendicular to the valve, the system closes, and the flow is shut off. Globe valves are primarily preferred in places where frequent opening and closing or rapid opening and closing are required. Due to their excellent sealing properties, low pressure loss, easy opening and closing, and compact size in the pipeline, globe valves are one of the commonly preferred types of metal valves.

What is a Globe Valve?

A globe valve is the most commonly used valve type in installations worldwide. Like other frequently preferred products, the technology of these valves is rapidly evolving. They are suitable for frequent opening and closing, durable, and have a long service life. Globe valves, which offer precise flow control, are suitable for use at high pressure and temperature. The most important reason for the frequent preference of these valves is the three separate seals they successfully provide. These valves owe their circuit sealing to the closing of the rotating valve wheel, achieved by the force applied by the stem. They ensure external sealing with two different solutions: sealing between the body and the bonnet with a gasket, and sealing from the stem to the outside with gland packings.
