Types of Butterfly Valves
Butterfly valves come in two types: wafer and lug. Both types have their own distinct features. Lug-type butterfly valves allow for cleaning, inspection, and repair without completely shutting down the system, as each flange has its own set of bolts. On the other hand, wafer-type butterfly valves are designed to prevent backflow in one-directional flow systems. They boast high sealing properties and safeguard the system against two-way pressure differences. Each valve type has its own subtypes.
