Butterfly Valve Types
There are two types of butterfly valves, wafer, and lug. Both types of butterfly valves have different features. Lug type butterfly valves have their own bolts on each flange, allowing the valve to be cleaned, inspected, and repaired without completely shutting down the system. On the other hand, wafer type butterfly valves are designed to prevent backflow in one-way flow systems. They have high sealing properties and protect the system against two-way pressure difference. Both types of valves have their own subtypes.
