What is a Check Valve?

Check valves are safety fittings in fluid transfer systems that prevent the fluid from flowing back. There are many types of check valves that can be selected based on system requirements and other criteria. The main factors considered when selecting a check valve are pressure loss, closing feature, and costs.

Check valves are valves that allow fluid to flow in one direction only. These devices, which achieve this with structures such as balls, springs, or cones, are used for different reasons in different installations. In systems where the reverse flow of fluid would adversely affect the operation of the system, such as LPG-powered vehicles, the check valve ensures system stabilization, while in hydraulic systems, it prevents the decrease in pressure created by the fluid's backflow.
