Knife Valves
Knife Valves developed for sludge and abrasive applications. They are often used especially in sort of fluids containing abrasive particles. These types called knife valves, since they interrupt the flow with a knife (slide) perpendicularly. This blade operates by vertically closing and opening between two sealing rings. It is preferred to operate fully open or closed. They are not suitable for precised flow control.
Knife valves are suitable for use in multi-fibrous fluids, for example in paper industry and waste water lines. They provide full sealing with their one-piece body and elastomer (EPDM, NBR, NR) seat. Depending on fluid properties, they can also be produced with a metal seat. They operates by flywheels, gearboxes, chain wheels, pneumatic actuators and electric actuators.
