What is a Butterfly Valve?
A butterfly valve is a versatile type of valve used for both on/off control and flow regulation. It is known for its multi-functional usage. Occupying minimal space in pipeline systems, a butterfly valve provides excellent sealing in both directions, is easily adaptable to automation, and operates with low pressure loss, making it an economical choice. These features have made butterfly valves a preferred product in many systems since their inception in the 1960s. Today, butterfly valves are widely used in various fields including fire protection systems, water and wastewater systems, power stations, compressor lines, HVAC plants, and treatment centers. There are two types of butterfly valves: wafer and lug.
